Cute Monsters - Like Father, Like Son

Hi everyone,   Yesterday there was a planned power outage in my neighbourhood so what better time than to do some colouring.  It was a sunny, 30 deg.C day so no need for lights. The vacuuming, ironing and cooking had to wait....!

I've discovered Pollycraft digitals and they are quickly becoming a favourite.  Now, you might need your shades for this one....it's pretty bright!  The cute image is called Monster Hugs and you can find it here.  I thought this would be perfect for Father's Day.   I coloured them in turquoise...this is the colour they have them in the shop and I loved it.....not very original but when it works, it works....oh I did change the tie to match my DP :)

I've used my a La-La-Land banner die and Spellbinders Back-to-basics tags.  Letters were cut using Quickutz.  DP is TPC Studio (bugs and butterflies), CS is from Stampin Up.   A very CAS card but I do like it...making these fellas the main attraction!
Copics:
Big guy: BG34, 32, 49, 78, R20
Little guy: BG11, BG23, R20
Tie: YR04, YR07, Y15, Y19
Shading: T6, 4, 2, 1, 0

I will be entering the following challenges:
  1. CRAFT Challenge #209 - Father's Day
  2. Delightful Challenges - For Dad
  3. Paper Crafting Journey - Masculine

Take it Easy.....it's your birthday!

Hi everyone.  I'm back with another card that I've made just for fun.   I always need masculine cards so thought I would colour up my new stamp from LOTV called Take it Easy that you can find here.

I've pulled a lot of items from my stash for this one and it always feels good to be reducing the pile.
Papers are from Graphic 45.  Buttons are BasicGrey.  Ribbon and mesh are so old I've forgotten their origin.  Tag is Spellbinders, HB is computer generated.  Coloured with Copics.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by.

And then it happened!

Hello everyone.  Another chilly morning to start the weekend but at least the sun is shining.

I've a long post today with lots of pictures.  I captured the unthinkable when colouring this image with Copics.   This has happened to me before but it still was an OH NO moment.  First I'll show the finished card that I will be entering into Totally Papercrafts Challenge #168 which asks for buttons.
At Saturated Canary they have a challenge that calls for "hair that is different"....well this one sure is different!   If you stick with me here you'll see why.

Usually when I begin colouring an image I start with the skin, then the hair but with this adorable image I thought the nightie was a challenge for me so started with it first, leaving the hair to the last.  And this is what happened!

My E29 gave off a HUGE drop of ink !!!!  All the blotting in the world won't remove this mess.
On reflection I think this happens when I use very light strokes and this causes the ink to accumulate....that's what I'm thinking anyway!

Now to the rescue!  I printed off another image and just coloured the area I needed to use for the repair.  Looks like a hair piece...which I guess it is (smile).  I use a black marker around the cut edges so no white is showing before attaching.

Finished....an hours colouring saved from the bin!

Other details:
Spellbinder Gold Elements One dies
Saturated Canary digi Reading Beauty
Memory Box Kaleidoscope Butterfly
DP - Prima Celebrate Jack & Jill
SU Pink Pirouette (my favourite pink)
Pearl Buttons from my stash

Other challenges I would like to enter:

MAWTT - Embossing

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Good day everyone and welcome.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and Happy Mother's Day to those of you who are celebrating.

The negative part of the Memory Box Oceana Border die was used and I quite like how it turned out.
